Original "Bitter Campari" Vintage Poster

Leonetto Cappiello is an iconic artist and poster designer who was commissioned by Campari to help promote the brand as it expanded to overseas distribution. Cappiello was a prolific poster artist who liked to feature solitary figures against dark backgrounds, as you can see in this original print. The subject in this poster is based on Pierrot, the sometimes sad clown who has an ability to relate to many types of people. David Bowie once remarked, "I'm Pierrot. I'm Everyman," when he made his acting debut as Cloud in Commedia dell’Arte’s mime "Pierrot in Turquoise," in the late 60s (Bowie also wrote the music). Although drinking isn't a solution if you're sad, perhaps a few Negronis may brighten the day. The "Bitter Campari" poster is sure to brighten any wall in your home. Purchase also includes a certificate of authenticity.
